english camp

friends at english camp (L to R: Elisa, Javi, Krista, Paz, Pablo)

This past weekend I went to Madrid (3 hours away in train) to help with the annual  Metas Asociación English Camp.

This year’s theme was “Fall Fest” and it was pretty fun. The weekend is meant to provide a quality English immersion experience for those seeking to improve their English speaking/listening skills. There are five one on one conversation times with a native speaker, and also there are various workshops attendees can sign up for. The topics/themes of the workshops range from, how to bake an apple pie, learning the lyrics of famous English songs (so that you can learn what they’re actually singing, not what you think they’re saying), role play scenarios (improv), the poetry of Edgar Allan Poe, an English church service, etc.

It was great to see some of the people that I met at last year’s camp come back again. Again, my fav part of the camp is the conversation times. The whole point is to share stories, talk about life, etc.
